An RYA registered club, we are a community club run by our volunteer members. Dinghy Sailing is the Club’s primary activity.
You don't need to have any previous experience of sailing to become a member. We have RYA Level 1 & 2 courses held in the sheltered waters of Margate Harbour in May and September which are open to adult and younger members to introduce sailing for the first time or refresh sailing skills.
We run cadet (youth) training sessions from May to August every Wednesday at 5-7pm for 8-16 year old members £5/session (members) £15/session (non-members).
Novice adult and cadet (youth) members can crew with more experienced members on our relaxed dinghy racing days to have time on the water with a safety boat and put the skills learnt into practice.
Sailing need not be an expensive sport; the Club provides wet suits, buoyancy aids and helmets free of charge and charges only £5 per day for the use of a club dinghy.
Adult Sailing membership costs £105 per year*
Sailing Partner membership costs £39 per year* for a second adult joining on a family membership.
Cadet (youth) membership costs £6 per child per year
Cadets must have a parent/carer join as a member and must have a responsible adult in attendance at the Club while on site.
Non sailing membership costs £55 per year
A non sailing membership is available for Canoes, Kayaks, Sup boards, Windsurfs and Kite Surfing. Non sailing members have access to club facilities, inc the club house and the boat yard and most importantly a community of people who want to get out on the water together safely. Equipment storage is £20 per year per craft/rig.
